I wish I had better news. I wish this weird kind of super hot pond could fix all of our energy woes, but solar or salt ponds can't really get the job done. It's a really cool, large-scale science experiment. Really hot water (nearly boiling) results from three levels of water and some sunlight. But you need clear water, which is hard to maintain. And super-salinated water, which is hard to create. And a lot of empty space with no cows who might become boiled beef. 

I think that if we ever establish human colonies on other planets, solar ponds might help power that brave new world, but besides some potential applications just outside of cities like Vegas, solar ponds probably aren't the cure for our energy pain in America.
